The same jumble of boulders we saw in exhibit No. 64 – only this time photographed from the opposite side, from the water, almost at the level of the pond's surface. Seven guests are scattered across the rocks between two waterfalls tumbling side by side, and in front, on the lowest stone, a young man in a dark suit sits with one foot lowered almost to the water, waving at the camera. Above the pond, a metal pipe or rod arches over the water – likely part of the artificial waterfall's structure.
This photograph shows that the "Riviera" cascade was not a single waterfall but an entire system of water tumbling down in several steps, wrapping around a small rocky island on both sides – giving local photographers (and the guests themselves) plenty of angles to choose from: the same spot could be photographed either from the shore, looking toward the palace (exhibit No. 64), or from the water, looking straight at the wall of rock. The more such views there were, the more convincing the advertised illusion of a "resort" became.
In the animation, the water in the pond unexpectedly deepens into a rich blue, the trees turn green, and the man seated in front raises his hand and waves cheerfully — as if inviting the viewer to come and sit down beside him on the rock.
