This old engraving is one of the earliest known depictions of the Lentvaris manor, printed under the title "Pałac w Landwarowie" (Lentvaris was then known by its Polish name, Landwarów). It shows a tower with crenellations and a clock, a glazed veranda entrance, chimneys, and a path lined with a white picket fence leading up to the house.
This Swiss-style manor house was built at Lentvaris between 1855 and 1865 by Count Juozapas Tiškevičius, who lived here with his wife Sofija and their children until 1875. This is the earliest known appearance of the palace: his son Vladislovas, who later inherited the estate, had it rebuilt again, giving it a different silhouette.
