M. K. Tiškevičienė is Maria Krystyna Tiškevičienė (exhibits No. 36–37, 50), Vladislovas Tiškevičius's wife. The artificial grotto was one of the decorative features of Lentvaris park, created as part of the landscape park designed by the French landscape architect Édouard André.
The animation not only colours the photograph but brings the whole scene to life: the friends wave at the viewer, while in the foreground, right at the grotto's mouth, someone appears wading or bathing in the water — a playful, spontaneous touch that isn't in the original photograph.
