This photograph is one of the few surviving views of the second floor of the palace: family and guests gathered at a long, candlelit table, a crystal chandelier hanging above, a servant standing by the door, and portraits lining the walls. The original is in very poor condition — it is one of the only surviving images of this room at all.
This room was known as the Green Dining Room and stood on the second floor of the palace.
