A part of the central hall on the ground floor of Lentvaris Palace: deep within a tall arched niche stands a full-length statue of a young man in classical style, one hand raised, with two ornately carved period chairs at its feet. High above, arched windows let light fall into the spacious, column-divided hall; to the left, a massive dark double door.
This space belongs to the same grand, ceremonial part of the palace as the staircase shown in exhibits No. 52–53 — together, all three photographs let us picture just how stately the interior of Lentvaris Palace was after the Neo-Gothic reconstruction initiated in 1899 by Vladislovas Tiškevičius (exhibits No. 38, 44, 50).
The animation zooms in on the statue's face in profile — the camera drifts slowly forward, as though the viewer were stepping closer to study the sculpture's detail.
