Countess Sofija Tiškevičienė (exhibits No. 51, 39 and 44) with her eldest son Aleksandras (1864–1945), who would later become lord of the Kretinga estate — the young man's age suggests the photograph dates to around the 1880s, taken at Otto Weidtke's photo studio in Klaipėda (then Memel), 23 Liepojos Street. It is held at the Kretinga Museum (inv. no. KM IF 6857).
Aleksandras was the second-eldest of Juozapas and Sofija Tiškevičius's children (after the elder Juozapas) — in exhibit No. 39 he appears already grown, in the 1896 family portrait, alongside his brothers Vladislovas (No. 38, 41, 43–45) and the rest. Here, still in his teens or early youth, he sits beside his mother, her hand resting gently on his shoulder.
The animation brings that same tender gesture to life — the mother's hand lifts from his shoulder and touches his head, as though she were briefly smoothing his hair, or simply reaching to touch her son.
