This interwar photograph shows guests examining the already-abandoned Lentvaris palace by its main entrance. The massive carved wooden doors are clearly visible, with a relief above them, and higher still, two stone coats of arms: on the left, Leliwa (the Tiškevičius family arms, with a crescent moon and star), on the right, the Lubomirski family arms. The two coats of arms carved side by side on the façade — Tiškevičius and Lubomirski — mark the marriage of Vladislovas Tiškevičius and his wife Marija Kristina, born Princess Lubomirska, already introduced in another exhibit in this show. This photograph of the already-abandoned palace shows what fate time brought to the once-magnificent residence: its interior was badly damaged during the First World War, and later, in the interwar years, it stood empty, occasionally visited by the curious.
