This old photograph is another early view of the Lentvaris manor palace, part of the same 2008 archival research: the palace with its tower is mirrored in the perfectly still surface of the lake, while on the left, in the distance, the silhouette of the town appears with a church tower. This is the same tower, still in its form from before the late-19th-century rebuilding, seen in another old photograph elsewhere in this exhibition. Here the frame is wider, showing how the palace, standing on its hill by the lake, dominated the entire landscape of the town of Lentvaris.
The animation restores this photograph in colour and clarity, as though it had been taken today with a professional camera — keeping the same still, mirror-like reflection on the lake.
